Default Gas tank lock problem

i have my honda cbr 500 and my key hole for my gas cap corroded and froze the lock and now i can't open my gas tank to put gas in. If anybody knows about the best locksmith who can solve this issue plzz inform about it

If it is corroded, you can try hitting it with some pb blaster or some other spray lubricant to loosen it up. A locksmiths picks won't do it if your key won't.

If you can't loosen it up, you might need to drill out the barrel, then you need a new cap.

And if you want a suggestion on who to use as a locksmith, your location would help :P Maybe you will get lucky and get seen by someone close to you.

How did you solve the problem?
Got the same issue :/ Have used some w40 spray but that doesnt seem to help... dunno even how mutch ans so on to use it.. sprayed that in around 3 times over 4 hours... notin..

WD40 isn't a great penetrating oil. Get some PB Blaster.

After over pouring it with oil, two days i added a little food oil after every three hours, then got Wd-40 oil for one day. Still nothing. Then I started complaining about it to every guy in my company who I knew knows something about cars/technical parts (after i found out that pb plaster is not available here and the one people here use instead that is compared to water). And after my hopeless try-outs comes one guy looks at it. does the same thing that I did to get the lock open and I turn my back on him for just under a minute and he has got it open
I just stared there

I had no words, Bet I loosened it up for him

I took it home and seems that the locks didnt function properly. So I took my lock opening kit and played around with it a bit, added lil oil and now seems to work without problems.

good to hear it worked out. In the past when the lock on my fuel tank got stuck, I sprayed some carb cleaner into it and use the key to wiggle it around a bit. Now and then, i give it some wd40 to keep it from getting stuck again.
