I was just wondering how you get the cap with the keyhole out of the gas tank. I took the 8 bolts out of the ring around it and that wont come off and neither will the key hole itself.

No i dont have the key, thats why im trying to get this lock out because i hear there is a guy here that can make a key out of those locks.

 

it wont come off unless it is opened because it locks to the inside of the tank. I just had mine off the other day to install a tank bra.

 

Would it be possible to get the lock off of the back of the bike then?

A rather important detail you should have mentioned in the initial post. You might have to bring the whole bike in to the guy.

 

i am going through that right now.. my ONLY key got mailed to me and i received a shredded envelope..

but i took my ignition off and it was 20.00 for a locksmith to make a key from scratch

or there is a code on the helmet lock and honda can get you a key with proof of ownership! (but i didnt have a helmet lock)

you can take off the ignition or just the whole gas tank
