Default Fuel Tank Breather Hose

There are 3 hoses that connect to my 97 F3's fuel tank (Non-California Emissions): Main fuel line (to Petcock), drain hose (routes to side of engine next to coolant overflow), and the breather hose. Can anyone tell me what the breather hose is supposed to connect to? Currently it's just hanging there and I'm constantly smelling gasoline. Thx

it's eather the fuel tank overflow hose (look inside the gas cap and you'll see a hole there). It goes connected to the bottom of the tank or if it's the larger size hose then it's the one from the airbox.
