Default Crankcase breather hose? pls help

I was idling the bike with the airbox off while adjusting my new CCT... after a minute, noxious grey smoke is coming out of the large hose which is supposed to be attached to the front of the airbox! Looked it up in the service manual and it is the crankcase breather hose. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to be going through this hose... am i destroying my engine from making the CCT too tight?

edit: seems like it is normal... can someone delete this post? lol

Default RE: Crankcase breather hose? pls help

Firstly, Why are you trying to adjust your new cct as the tensioner does it for you when the oil is feed in through the top and the pipe that you are asking about is to allow the engine to breath, so the smoke you would have seen is caused by the hot oil giving off fumes. Place the pipe back onto the airbox and enjoy your ride and let the new chain bed in. You did replace the chain??
