When I used it on my car, I put some in the crank for a couple hundred miles ( max, because it thins the oil), then after that couple hundred miles I sucked some in a vac line, let the car sit for 20 mins, started the car back up and watched the smoke show. It all burned off, then changed the oil, and was good too go. I would ASSUME its similar on a bike.

Any time I used seafoam in the carb/vaccum I take off the catilatyc converter so the crap coming out of the exhuast doesnt clog the cat up.

i use seafoam in my old mustang
and my jetskis every summer

an entire can is a little much for a bike so at the beginning of each summer i will pour a few ounces in the tank and then a cap full into each velocity stack

it definetly keeps the valves cleaner when you look through the velocity stacks

The only problem I see with pouring it down the stacks is (what I've been told) is some butterflys have a coating on them for them to operate smoothly. Pour any cleaner on them would wash it off.

just stick to using it as a fuel additive and have no worries about anything else. in my opinion it does enough using it that way. i add about a 1/2 of a can of seafoam when changing my oil, and it keeps my bike running smoothly

Fuel additives have to be used as a maintenance product, so you should add them every so often from when the bike is still somewhat new. They aren't like liquid gold or anything that will magically fix your carbon coated valves or gummed up injectors. I'll put ina vote for Seafoam as well, but just in the fuel tank!
