my 900RR wuit on me 3 times today

I suspect the fuel pump is goin ou or lost connection to electrical source

It would runn for a while then "run out of gas"

Id let it cool down for a few mins then I could go for 5 mins or so and quit again


Ive torn it apart and found that the elctric fuel pump is not runnin or clickin when the key is turned to ON

anyone shed some light on this ??

when does the fuel pump come on suggestions please!

 

PS plenty of gas in he tank the petcock is operating correctly and the fuel filter is free flowing I checked all that already

 

ok I just ran a line form the tank to the carbs and it runs

So I guess either the pump is bad or there is a relay or solenoid or somethin somewhere

 

i replaced the stock fuel pump with a 6-8 psi universal pump from auto zone($20) stock replacement is like($143)
the pump on my bike will not always start pumping when i turn the key on. you might try to wire the pump stright to the battery to see if it works be carefull no sparks LOL (when mine went out it would pump 2 sec then shut off) = 2 block walk just to get home and it starts right up LOL

 

Im not sure whatsup I hear it coming on and off now

but sometghing caused me to run out when it got warm

 

check the solenoid. i had a friend who had a similar problem except it just shut off after extensive riding. for some reason it kept shorting out and cutting the bike off. we replaced it and everything seemed fine after that. we had checked everything else out and nothing fixed it. that was the last possibly thing we could even possibly replaced that made some sort of sense and it worked.

 

i have had the same problem and i wired it straight to the battery and it is not pumping any gas to the injectors maybe i wired it wrong but i have another to put in where is the celenoied to check on this thing
