Default fuel pump not working right

had this in the f3 section but no responses... the bikes a 95 f3

my fuel pump finally came in ( FUEL PUMP Honda CBR600 CBR900 893 GAS UNIT ELECTRIC ASSEMBLY | eBay )...

The thing is it'll only click once or twice when starting and won't start working again until i stop turning the bike over then it just does the same thing... i really don't want to go buy more parts because i'm 2 shy of having it on the road...

any thoughts on what's going on with the pump?

Is it hooked up to the bike right now? Fuel pumps will only prime for a second or two until the pressure builds, then it stops. The F3 may have a built in timer, or it does by pressure, I'm not sure. Either way, it will only pump a short time. Then when the bike is running, it will kick on as needed. They should not run continuously.
