I told you guys what you were supposed to use in the bikes. You two were arguing that you were supposed to put in 91 and that it was cheap to put anything less in there although it had nothing to do with money.

Plain and simple.

Oh and if you think nothing has happened in vincennes and the surrounding areas, you should really look up what all happens in Indiana and Illinois. We have quite a bit more than you think apparently. Not that I really care what you think but it would just be good to make yourself a little more knowledgeable before you make false accusations about things.
DT just another example of you clouding the facts by adding your interpretation.

I said it was better to put in 91 then risk damaging your motor. That I used 91 and the only reason not to use 91 would be if you were too cheap because if you didn't need the extra octane at least it wouldn't hurt vs if you used too low an octane it could. I and others also threw in some combustion engine theory to back up/explain why I/we thought 91 was a better choice.

So far as making myself "a little more knowledgeable" about Vincennes,Indiana, I did. I went to the webpage since I've never even heard of the place. How do you think I know about the library, museum, winery and that they were built in the 1800's, lucky guess? No, unlike you I make sure I have a clue about what I'm talking about before I speak/type.

Anyway I'm done, this thread has been beat to death. So you and tcjayde go ahead and give each other high fives, at least until the next time it's proven you don't have a clue and then tcjayde can challenge them to "settle it" and you can throw on your broken record about what the manual says but never providing an explaination as to why. A little more has been added since the 1800's. Might want to go a little bit further in time.

As has been written, the manual say to use 86.."or higher". I use 91 or 93 octane, not because I have a high performance race machine, but because it burns a little cleaner. That's it in a nut shell. I want my $hit to run right, burn clean, and stay clean.

Chaos, get a cupful of 87 octane and a cupful of 93 octane. Light them both on fire. See which smoke is less black. I bet you can't tell. If you're using too high of an octane, then it's not getting a complete burn. Therefore, you're actually getting a "cleaner" burn with the lowest octane you can run before detonation.
