front rotor bolts... help please...
Hey guys, whats up... the season is upon us, and ive had a few rides. As some of you know, Im in the process of swapping front rotors, as my current ones are somehow warped... What Im wondering now is what size allen wrench do I need for these bolts? I see a stamping on the carrier wich reads "3.5 mm" Is that it? I have standard size allen head wrenches and they just dont match up... damn japanese bull ****
j/k j/k... wouldnt trade it for anything
any help will be appreciated,
Chris
**Edit... Ooops, i forget these things. I have an 03 600 RR

Look in your tool kit -- there should be a metric allen wrench that'll fit. Everything on the bike is metric so now's a good time to start ordering some new tools
And don't torque 'em down to what the service manual says -- well, they're 6mm on the 1kRR and it says 14 lb/ft which is way too much. You'll end up drilling out broken bolts. 6mm is roughly 1/4 inch and standard torque is 6 to 8 lb/ft. And as was mentioned -- red loc-tite.
