Default Fried ecu / cdi?....probably

I was having trouble push starting my bike after the winter so I decided to just have someone jump it with their car (apparently I should have checked here first). When I connected the jumpers, the bike lights and everything came on fine. But, as soon as I hit the starter button it sounded like I blew a fuze and everything instantly died. No lights, no nothing. Even though the bike was still connected to the car, I couldn't get ANY power. I figured I just blew some fuze, but they are all fine. Then I checked my connections and everything seems to be ok and nothing is loose or burned out. So......it seems like I probably fried my ecu. Any other thoughts before I go and buy another one?

Was the car running when you jumped off of it? If it was you just blew your bike up. You can jump it from a car but it has to be off.

Depending on your bikethere may be two places for fuses, maybe you only checked one of them. Also I have had fuses that looked good, but were really bad. I hope it is isn't the ECU, good luck.

Also...before you go and get a new ECU try a different battery.

Jumping from a car shouldn't have fried anything. 14v DCfrom a car is the same as 14v DCfrom a bike. It doesn't matter what the source of the voltage is as long as it is correct. The battery you use could be 1 million CCA and it wouldn't matter. The bike will only use the amperage it needs. (did you actually connect the cables correctly?)

I agree with the others who said check for fuses.
