Fork adjustments
is there a certain setting for your front forks? I am new at all of this absolutely love riding wish i would have started years ago. But I have a lot to learn. The settings are S to H which I assume that is soft and hard???
Do the settings help you in turns ??? should you go softer or harder to help control the bike in turns?? And what are fork seals and when do you know if they are bad??

No, there is no fixed setting, although you can adjust them to the original "generic" factory settings. On sportbikes the rider accounts to a large percentage of the overall weight, so yes, proper suspension setup helps tremendously. I won't pretend to know much about suspension (cause I don't), although I do know that unless you know what you're doing, you probably ought to leave it to a professional. You can ride your bike in to shops that will adjust it specifically to your weight & riding style and it's usually reasonably priced (shop around).
As with the fork seal, it’s located where the smaller diameter (polished) tube meets the bigger diameter tube. It looks like what it is; a rubber seal, lol. When a seal starts to fail, it will develop a greasy film on the tube that will accumulate dirt. More severe leaks will actually cause the fork oil to drip down.
If you haven’t yet, you can download a copy of your Service Manual atop this section in the *Sticky* area. Sport Rider Magazine will oftentimes publish "suggested" suspension settings for specific model bikes.
Here's some additional links to get you educated:
