Default flushing a gas tank?

how do i go about cleaning out a gas tank?

lemme look for some tutorials, i took mine to a shop and had them acid dip it for rust, and then epoxy coat the inside to prevent future rust, it was like $70.

thanks for the info. did you just take it to any cycle shop to have it treated for rust?

you can also take it to a radiator shop if there is one around, i did the 3 part acid kit my self its not very hard it depends how much rust is in the tank

its not rust. i noticed a oily film on the inside the tank. so i was gonna clean it out, any tips?

i bet there is rust in it, what bike is it? Make sure you dont use water, as this will create rust. take it to a radiator shop if they are going to do it. almost anywhere can do it, my dad's buddies shop did it (he sells auto parts so he has lots of buddies with shops).
