anyone done this mod for stunting or drag purposes, i bought a 929 that was stunted and i fixed it up and thought i had a trans prob, but after getting in touch with the previous owner he told me he had the shifter flipped so that 1st is up from neutral and then 5 down

 

Seems really pointless for stunting, but yes it's not unheard of to reverse the shift pattern, especially for racing.

 

Called "GP Shift." Agree that it's pretty pointless for stunting or even normal street riding. My 954 is standard (street riding) but my 600 is GP Shift (race/track).

 

Its actually quite useful for highway wheelies. Both my sportbikes are gp shift, which originally was for wheelies till I started track riding and its even more useful there.
