Default Fired stator dealership issue.

Could a hid kit fry a stator and the r/r dealership said that the stator and r/r on my bike was caused by a short from the hid kit. I know I hooked up the hid kit right Because the lights would of not worked if they were wired wrong I just want to know if that's even possible.

a short can cause alot of damage depending on different factors, But is plausible that your HID Kit could have done that, but there could have been other factors as well..

What type of Kit was it? Wattage? Did you replace any fuses?

If it was a cheap kit it might have been wired correctly and just cheaply made which could cause an internal short

It was a xenon hid kit ballast are 35 watts no blown fuses but if the hid kit had a short it would of blown the fuse right.

The r/r USUALLY fries because of a bad ground. A short should pop fuses before they have a chance to do serious damage.

The fried r/r could have also caused the stator to go out.

Well I didn't have any blown fuses so that means that it wasn't the hid kit right so there would be no way that the hid kit would have fryed the stator and the r/r then.
