Ill solder a 9.1V zener to it, last time I did I got 8.6V to pink wire so I ended up throwing a 10V diode on and then i get 9.5 but that was with my headlights(highbeam) fuse still on.

No! 9.1v is drop-amount from input. So 13v-9.1v=2.9v, way way too low.

1. show link/photo of zener you installed last time
2. show photo of how it's soldered to bottom of ignition-switch.

Lol I KNEW IT, my homie thought we had it correct so Im now glad i bought 3.3V, 5.4V, 9.1V and 10V diodes.

Bad solder job but im a one man army lol.

You’ve got it installed backwards.

Start over with my guide from beginning and post your measurements at each step. If something doesn’t match, stop and fix it so numbers are correct. Only then move onto next.

What do you have in there now?
I believe factory one is 3.6-3.9v drop.

Zener diodes needs to be installed in blocking direction. Rather than completely blocking flow like regular diodes, they allow some voltage through and drop some in process.

Simple thing to do is measure before soldering:

1. Touch non-stripe end to +13v supply and measure output voltage at other end, volts = ???
2. Touch stripe end to +13v supply and measure output voltage at other end, volts = ???

I dont have any in right now, I took the 10v diode out yesterday.

3.3V diode
1-12.4v
2- 11.9v

5.4V diode
1-12.3v
2-8.7v

so perhaps i run the 5.4? If outcome is 8.7? Or should i order 3.6-3.9v diodes

Is there problem with battery? Why's it have range of voltages?

Again, you're wasting time by skipping ahead. Nothing after 3a 3b matters because you've got improper values.
Only thing that matters is getting diode configured properly for 9.0v output!!!

1. post photo of how you have new diode soldered in.
