Thinking about buying this off a guy on ebay. Just want verification that it is indeed an F3 motor and not an F2 motor. I knew my friends at cbrforums would be able to tell me for sure

The F3 was ram air so you should be able to tell by the shape of the airbox. It looks F2 to me still a very good motor just not quite as powerful as the f3

 

so by looking at the airbox, I can tell if it's F3? It should have two nostrils in it right?

 

Definitely looks like an F2 to me. But it also fits F3s.

thanks for the replies everyone. And thanks to pacemaker for the engine codes. The seller said it was from a '98 F3. I drove to get the motor today and indeed, the engine code is 27xxxxxx something.
