Ever Purchased a Bike that had been raced

Is that one of the ones in Penziol colours? That's around the time he got his first championship, that would be sweet. He was selling his CBR1000 RR's last year from the 2010 season, but they were too rich for my blood! I guess if your privateer you have to try to re-coup as much as you can at the end of the season. If the bike is a good deal I would buy it, even if it's just a show piece!
am I crazy to think I could use this as a daily driver?

Can you even get it street legal? I don't know what the titles are like on race bikes. You would have to add a bunch of stuff though, signals, head light, tail light, horn, see how the ignition is set up (key or not) maybe even a kickstand. If it's a road worthy machine that's been ridden since it's race days I would say you could use it as a daily rider.

It all depends. I bought an RC51 that was used as a track bike, put around 11k on it last year and a valve adjustment showed almost everything was pretty clean and close to spec. I've also seen track bikes that have done triple somersaults through the air put back together to make it look like it's in pretty good condition which I wouldn't touch with a 50 foot pole. Just do the usual "go over it three times" and bring a friend for a second opinion.
