Default Ever hear of such a thing?

I have a 1995 cbr1000f.......Can anyone tell me why I would be able to pull my #4 plug wire, andmy bike still runs with absolutely no sound difference...If I pullmy #1plug(same coil pack) wire, the bike dies instantally. I can put a plug in the wire directly and it sparks like a big dog....scratching my head?????

Wish it were that simple, but no...Replaced plugs, tested coil on each end
cleaned the carbs, tested everything...at a loss.....

I did the same thing on my 900RR when I tested my coils but when I pulled my #4 coil wire, it sounded like a V-Twin and started to chug as the cylinder filled up with gas. Does your bike backfire a lot? Maybe your coil could be fine but your coil wire could be a bit dodgy...

you mean from the coil to the plug? thats what im going to check next.when i pull the #4 plug wire from the plug the cylinder should stop firing and the bike should sound differant, but it does not. which means my #4 cylinder was not firing before i pulled the wire.
