So with all the noise my bike is making now, me and my pops are going to rebuild the engine. Does anyone know of a rebuild kit anywhere with gaskets or rings or anything we might need? We are thinking a rod bearing has gone, but we are not sure until we open her up. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

 

I'd look into how the engine was made first. Honda made the VFR engines with some kind of coating in the piston walls. Dont believe anyone but honda can do the block. Heck I think I'd have to order a new block if I needed a rebuild.

 

time to UPGRADE! hahaha how many miles are on that baby? Retrofit a 600RR engine in it. I think I saw a complete enginewith ECM and wiring harness for 1500 bucks on ebay.
