Default engine rebuild

Here are some pics of the first stage of my bikes rebuild. The head was assembled first with the rest afterwards. Let me know what you think.

The engine is cleaner than the dinner table it is located on and that is aguatantiee for a good result

Looking forward tohear your findings and howthe work proceedes.

Whatis the mileage and condition of the engine now ?

Is the head gasket a multi-layer steel gasket?

Only got her tested ao sat so only have nearly 100miles, and she feels real smooth, but cant let her loose for a while yet as she needs to be run in (boring I know) But early indications show that there is more power there than there was before..

Yes the gasket is a steel one...

If the whole rebuild looks that clean and you're careful the rebuild/renovation cant be anything but perfect !
Did you do anything to the cylinders/pistons...Overdimension ?

Sorry for the delay. Mileage was 72000 and the engine was in a good clean condition, the exhaust valveshad some heat corrosion and alot of carbon on the lower side of all valves. Here are some more pics showing different stages. The pots were honed out as they were in great condition

To do the engine was three weeks. Evenings and weekends whenever possible

Great job and well done ! So, basically you have changed the rings and grinded the valves and seats, right? Or did you change other stuff also likee.g.main and rod bearings ?
