Engine housing damage repair?
Hey all,
So I picked up a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600 for cheap. The problem is that part of the engine housing got damaged and then the owners decided to try and patch it up with JB weld. I figured I'd post something up to see if anybody had any suggestions as to how to fix it. Otherwise right now I'm planning on getting a new crankcase and moving the engine internals and jugs over. Thoughts?

I wouldn't trust JB weld on an area as big as that, and which takes so much strain.
You can TRY it, but I don't think it will last.
If it was mine, I'd do the transfer of everything into a new casing.
Sad, but true.

Thats what I've been thinking, and I'd like to do it right because I just may decide to keep it. But even if I wanted to sell it, patchwork like that just isn't right, I wouldn't want to try to sell it to somebody like that.
I saw some sh*t at the flea market over the summer that might work. It's aluminum rod used kinda like solder with a propane torch. The guy "fixed" a lawnmower engine with a similar prob. , a broken carb. flange, he even welded a pop can back together. I almost bought it just for the hell of it, but when I reached in my pocket it was empty. lol. Apparently I left the house w/o any cash or my wallet. "You big dummy", Good luck.
