Post Alternator Chain Tensoiner Repair without stripping the engine

This took some brainstorming but at the time of this posting the bike is running like a trooper nearly 1300 miles later.
The engine in question is a CBR 1000F-L from 1991. It's got just shy of 60K miles on it and has had five previous owners during it's life before my ownership.
I simply love it and wanted to share my rather unorthodox repair with any of you who may find yourself in same quandary. If you consider this is the right course of action for you, prepare yourself for some serious surgery. Having said that it took me 6 hours start to finish including more brain storming as this hasn't been done before from what I can gather.
If I had these instructions I could shave a couple of hours off that time but then there's always something else you can find to attend to while you've got the fairings off.
Check out the link to the file which is being kindly hosted by our champion moderator CBR Classic who I have to thank for all his help despite the initial scepticism.
I think this is a first. I hope it won't be a last as far as my contribution in the how to section goes. I do love an experiment.
I was born mad and firmly intend to stay that way.

If you need further info feel free to ask. I'll be glad to help.

HenryM.

Over to you Sir Classic.....

Downloaded fine for me.

Unless a long term member says no I’m quite happy to send it to you - pm me an email address.

I'm sorry it seems to work when downloading on laptop, didnt load on my phone... Is the rattle often due to the tensioner being broken or should the chain also really be replaced? And is it bad to just let the alternator chain rattle or am I risking further damage to my cbr? I just redid the cam chain and cct and hoped to be able to ride with a smooth engine this season...

Yes, you can destroy engine if you let those chains rattle too much.

You need to measure to answer these questions. Follow manual's procedure for measuring cam-chain wear. If chain is not worn, no need to replace it. Noise is from something else.

Thank you so much for helping out! I've already replaced the cam chain and modified and cleaned the cam chain tensioner. This works fine now, but the rattle was still there. So now the engine is apart and I found see the alternator chain is loose. I've been able to find a new tensioner but the chain itself (28161MM5013) is unfindable... I also can't find a new oil pump chain (15161MM5003) anywhere... So I hope the new tensioner will fix the issue.

Would you maybe know where I could find these chains?

Thanks again for the help!
