i have a 2001 600f4i... got it 2 weeks ago and i am a new rider so dont know much bout them.. evrything ran good till last night when i went to go home... what happ was when i let go of ignition switch it just died automatically. rolled back some so i can push it up my friends driveway and leave there for the night. started up but have no headlights now, plus when i turn my turn signals on it dies automatically... if anyone has any ideas please let me know

 

Time to check your charging system. Sounds like your reg/rec went out and isn't charging the battery. The bike ran off the battery until it was dead and now the bike is done.

Get the battery fully recharged and then test your system using this:

Also check you headlight wiring harness. The F4i has a bad tendency for the headlight wire harness plug to come loose. When this happens bike will just die and not run. They have a safety switch( which shuts bike off if you drop it ) it is part of the headlight harness. So therefor when the plug comes loose, Bike doesn't run.

 

well tested the battery and its good.... the bike will run but as soon as i turn a turn signal on it will die... ima go check the wire harness so if there is a short in it or somethin
