Default Electrical Problem

A friend has a 2003 CBR600RR I was looking to buy who had it up and running fine yesterday. When I went to look at it today the front fairing was put back on (paint work was being done) and now the bike won't start. When you turn the key you can't hear the fuel pump whine like you should. I'm thinking it may be the tip over switch in the guage cluster. Can you guys help me figure out what may be wrong? Thanks.

that's the most likely culprit.
if the light harness isn't hooked up then the bike won't start.
if it is hooked up but still won't start and you can't hear the pump prime, then it's very likely that when he took everything off to paint, he put the bank angle sensor back on upside down.

If it's not the tip over sensor then check the harness from the pump it self. You didn't say put if you had the tank hinged back maybe the plug going to the pump got disconnected.
