Downshifting issue....
I have a 97 F3 with 21K that I recently rebuilt the motor. All seemed well, but now about 1000 miles post rebuild, I have an issue with downshifting. Several times today, slowing to a stop for a red light, I could not downshift. I might be in sixth gear, then I would shift to fifth (no problem), then fourth (no problem), then it wouldn't downshift anymore. I would fuss with it a bit more (after coming to a complete stop), then I could get it to go through the rest of the gears. I haven't had any issues upshifting, only occasionally with downshifting.
From my rebuild, I replaced several gears, shift drum, and a shift fork. I guess I have to get motivated to break into my 'ol F3 AGAIN to figure out whats acting up...or what I mis-installed.
Anyone have a similar issue before? Thanks in advance.

i had a simialr problem once on my 98 f3.. it was the shift lever being too close to the shift rod and wouldnt let me get down past 2nd .. up shifting was fine but 1st-N-2nd was a pain in the *** ... bent the rod back a lil bit and everything was fine again
