Default downshift metallic sound

I need some help diagnosing a problem on the F3. When I downshift at fairly high rpm’s while slowing down, (say its coming up to 8 or 9 grand), and let the clutch out there seems to be a metallic buzz sound that comes from the engine area. Any idea what this could be? I am rev-matching my downshifts. Could using engine braking from that high of rpm’s cause any issues? I am not noticing any other drivability issues besides that.
