digital gear display

Having owned British bikes in the past and not had the benefit of modern technology before I bought my CBR I got used to how many revs in each gear equalled to the road speed in MPH. For example, 3 thousand revs in top gear on my CBR equals 40mph. The same 3 thousand revs in 5th gear gives a road speed of 35mph or so. Doesn't take long to remember and saves forking out for expensive digital gear displays! I only need to know the revs in top gear that will give me 70mph (our maximum speed on motorways and dual carriageways) so I don't hang on to 5th!

I have a GIpro indicator on mine. It is one of the better mods I've added. One less thing I have to concern myself with now as I ride is what gear I'm in. Strongly recommend, although I don't know why Honda didn't incorporate a gear indicator in their instrument display, like other manufactures do.

thats going to be my next mod. Its not such a big deal when your riding around causually. But it can be a headache when your riding a bit more aggressive. the rpms on these bikes are very close from gear to gear. Yes, you can feel what gear your in, but a quick glance would be much nicer in most situations.
Also, I can't how many times I look for another gear, expecially on the freeway, only to realize I'm already in 6th.
Now that I have a good review ( thanks RJ), I know which one to get.

the top speed here is 110kmh and the difference between 5th and 6th gear at that speed is only about 500rpm
roadijeff: how much did you pay for that? im just a apprentice so gotta find something i can easily afford.
