Adhesive and sticker remover does all that.
It loosens the sticker, and then, after the sticker is off, you spray a little more, and use a microfiber or terry cloth towel and wipe al the residue away ... works great!!

 

mineral spirits will not hurt the paint any paint no mater what kind it is, some others will because they are too strong. you could let mineral spirits sit on the paint for hours and it would not hurt it.but what ever you do don't use a heat gun it's too hot. use a hair dryer only.

Place where I got my bike last serviced, got a young guy to clean my bike up (company policy) Used a high pressure water gun on it!!!. Managed to blast the sticker on the right hand side panel without to much of a problem.
They gave me the sticker to replace it (as I no longer trusted these dicks to do it). On my bike, 98 CBR600, the only painted surface is the tank. The fairing & side panel are polished ABS plastic.
Not sure about your bike, if so, paint damage won't be a prob, but lifting the sticker may leave a visible mark, as the surface underneath won't have faded.

 

hair dryer works, i've done it to at least six bikes and no probs.

 

a heat gun wont melt the plastics as long a you usw a little common since

 

you are 100% right as long as a little common sense is used, but i have seen someone do that (yes he was dumb) and no it wasnt me.... that fire thing was more of a joke though



but a hair dryer is perfect.

 

i thought about removing my stickers and wings but like someone said earlier...

i realized that the candy blue f4i the right and left fairings are actually black and the decal is blue so it might look a little funny = /

 

There is also something the guys at bodyshops use. It is a large rubber wheel on a drill bit. Works really well, you just have to be careful not to burn the paint with it by staying in one spot too long. It is used on cars a lot to remove pinstripes. That is the first thing I am going to try when I remove all my decals.

 

That wheel works pretty well on a painted metal surface, but would be real carefull using on on your plastics cuz they WILL melt !! That wheel gets hot pretty fast. Its not hot enough to melt paint, but it will melt the plastic.... tried it !!
