Default Dead Speedo

Short and sweet. '98 F3. Speedo stopped working. Currently have the gauge cluster disassembled looking for a fix. I have a feeling I'm looking in the wrong area. Suggestions?

Default RE: Dead Speedo

Is it the cluster not working as in no lights or anything? or is just the speedometer...

If its just the speedo, my first check would be the cable. I think that model has the speedo cable running down to the front tire. I would pull the cable from the cluster and rotate your front wheel. If it doesnt turn, you know your problem is either the cable or the drive. If it does, its in your cluster.

If its the entire cluster, check your fuses.

Its just the speedo. From my searching I was under the impression that the F2's and early F3's had cable driven speedos, but the late f3s were electronic. Kinda goes along with circuit board under the speedo
