Default Cush Drive Help!!!

I took my wheel off and the cush drive feel all apart. Can anyone explain why that would happen? What should I do, just replace it? 24k on the bike maybe 8k on that sprocket

Thanks

What do you mean it fell apart?

As in, it came apart? That's normal. There are no bolts that hold the cush drive hub into the wheel. The cust drive grommets (rubber things) sit in between the wheel and the sprocket-carrier. The assembly is held together by the wheel spacers/axle/swingarm. You can find a diagram on any parts fiche out there (bikebandit, ronayers, etc) of how it fits together.

If you mean something else, take a picture and post it using the IMG code from photobucket.

Ah, I see.

Yeah, that's not normal.

What you'll want to do is buy a set off ebay - very cheap but used, or go the better route, buy a new set off of a site like BikeBandit or Ronayers. There is a service limit to them, since it's those rubber grommets that are really connecting the power of the sprocket to the rim.

On Ronayers, for a cbr 954 (for example, I don't know exactly which bike you have), brand new, the "damper set" (what I call the rubber grommet things that have disintegrated) is $40 + shipping.

On ebay, used/same bike, I can get a set for $8 shipped.

So it depends on how much it's worth it to you. A used set, so long as it looks to be in decent shape will probably work for you just fine, but the "new" set would probably be better
