Default A couple questions

Well first off let me say hello to everyone. I've been reading this site for a while now and it's been a wealth of information and has really helped me decide as to which bike to purchase.....I picked up my '01 F4i today with 7000 km's on her (not sure in miles). This is my second bike but I already notice a huge difference in this and my old Katana! I think I made the right choice.

Anyways my question(s) are this....I dont seen to have a fuel gauge on me instrument panel. When I first turn on the key, it lights up for an instant and then goes away. Is this normal? Seems strange to not have a fuel gauge. Another question that may be harder to troubleshoot is when riding today I heard what sounded like a quiet rattle (seemed to be comming from the front end) but only when I was between 6-9k RPM's.....and no it wasn't the keys....I checked that first thing. Oddly enough I just had her in for a safety check, and general tune up today and they said the bike was in great shape.

Obviously I'm not too mechanically inclined so any help or suggestions are apprecieated! And again...its nice to be a part of this board and of the CBR community! Thanks.

You don't have a fuel gauge. You have a reserve gauge. It only comes on, when you have hit your reserve. You will need to watch your trip odometer to figure out how far you can go before needing to refuel.

You may be hearing the CCT rattle. If you run a search, you should find a ton of info.
