Default Clutch issues? 08 600rr

Hey guys! Newbie here. I recently purchased an 08 CBR 600. Loving it so far!! I have put about 1000 miles on it so far and its been trouble free up until today. I was on the highway in 6th and pulled hard on it to make a pass causing the clutch to slip.

This is the first time it has slipped on me, however, I have been thinking the clutch has felt a bit 'off' for a while now (especially once warm).

- There is free play in the cable
- Recently changed oil with Honda HP4 10w-40 oil.
- Tires are good.
- No burnouts or clutch-ups (from me at least)
- Bike has ~10500 miles on it.

Any thoughts besides just replacing the clutch?

Thank you for any help!

Seems a bit early for the stock clutch to go out...

Oh its not hard to burn up a clutch. Doing wheelies can burn in up really quick if they are done wrong. Are you the original owner of the bike? and changing the clutch isnt that hard to do. Takes me about an hour to do, start to finish.
