Default Clicks instead of Starts

A few months ago I had the stator and electrical box changed out. Know the bike has set in the garage for two weeks and will not start. All I get is a clicking sound. The battery is being charged right know but I am thinking that the mechanic screwed me when he changed out the stator. Any suggestions?

FYI - if you feel the need to be a smart *** with your reply keep it to your self. The last time a posted this a person got a little pissy because I replied to a persons post with this same question.

Your battery did not hold its charge. You had the charging system repaired but did you replace the battery? The money you spent on the charging system is wasted if you dont replace the battery too. The charging system failing is the symptom. The problem is a bad battery.

well charge the battery, what you are describing is typically a dead battery...if the battery is charged and it STILL does that then you might have a bigger problem...but it isn't uncommon for a battery to die in two weeks if the bike hasn't been run depending on the age of the battery...

I am the only one to do work on my bike.
That way the only one to blame is myself or the initial problem.

More than likely, the battery is just low. But, if you charge it and it still just clicks. Chances are pretty good that the faulty stator or rectifier ruined the battery. You will probably have to install a new one.

take the battery and have it load tested to see if its ok. You will just cause more issues if you run a battery that is shorted internally.

Thanks for all the help. The battery is working good right know, took it for a 4 hour ride last night. We will see how it goes. Anyone have a suggestion on a good battery to buy if I need to get one.

I actaully bought a cheap one from ebay for my wifes old R6.. itlasted 2 years, then we sold the bike, but it held up great for that time period.I think it was like 45 shipped, and a dealership one was 110.

Otherwise, I think Yuasa is the standard oem replacement for a lot of bikes.
