Cleaning your bike
Hey guys, I am 2 months into owning a bike. 03 600rr. I dont have a garage and I do not cover the bike unless its bad weather. rather just get up and go in the morning. I washed the bike last night, hesitant i stayed away from spraying the motor and electronics. I usualy just wipe it down but with the polin my black bike was yellow.
Do I have to be causious near the motor or electornics?
Can I soap up everything with out worrying?
Do i have to re lube the chain after I wash it?
How do I lube the chain by my self with out stands?
May seem like newb questions, but Im still a newb so all comments are appreicated.

The motor you should be relatively good with. The electonics try and stay away from. I just took the fairings off mine, to wipe down the entire bike. Big difference visually, but nothing that will affect day to day. If you don't hit the chain, I wouldn't worry. But when in doubt, go for it.

I usually wash mine with car soap out of a bucket and wax it once in a great while. But between serious wash/waxes spray on detailer is my friend, good stuff. And anytime your worried that you've washed or worn away all your chain lube you should consider relubing it, won't hurt it any, and lubing your chainevery 400 miles or so i s a good idea anyways. Just make a point to have the washes correspond with the basic maintenance and do it all at once, with some spray on detailer inbetween for cleaning touchup, least it works for me but I'm not as picky as some people about keeping my bikes spotless. You'll get alot of different answers to this question, and all are right, just do what works for you, the fact that your doing anything means your already up on the game.
