Default Cleaning up the bike.

So now that I finally have some free time to really clean my bike, I was wondering about a few things.

The thing that bothers me the most is the PO somehow got sand in the headlight. I really doubt he baked them open-- so any ideas how this happened/how to get it out/fix it?

Second, the bike was probably stored outside for a portion of time. There is some rust around some bolts. What is the best chemical/method to get at these rust spots?

Any other detailing tips would be greatly appreciated!

sand probably got kicked in if there was no bulb inthe socket or at sometime when the headlight was off, it got in. you can easlily shake it out by just taking off the assembly taking the bulb off and shaking it out. You can bake it open but thats extra work'

as for the rust.. take some pb blaster to get them off... then if u have enough time... soak ur bolts in water and vinegar over night. usually gets out rust spots and then grease them up b4 u put them back. u can use locktite or wd40 for a cheap alternative
