I recently replaced the stator and rectifier on my 954. I rode my bike to work (approx 35min ride). When I got there I could smell rotten egg smell and steam coming from under the seat vic. battery. I think it may be overcharging. Battery was one season old (purchased from Fleetfarm. Stator and rectifier also aftermarket (Dennis Kirk). Is it possible battery is just junk. Stator was replaced because wiring was damaged at the stator hub and was no longer working. I took bike to a repair facility and both stator and rectifier were condemned. I put original battery on charger the other day and installed and the bike started right up. I haven't had a chance to put any miles on yet. Any info or past experience w/ this problem would greatly appreciated!
