Default Charging System problem??

Hey Guys,

A few days ago I started having battery problems with my F2. I charged the battery, it lasted about a day, then was weak again.

I went and got a new battery and installed today. Started up no problem. When I first started with the battery problems, I started wondering if my charging system was working ok or not. I read somewhere on this board (I think) that if you disconnect the negative when the bike is running, if the charging system is hosed, the bike will cut out.

So I started the bike, disconnected the negative and it continued to idle, but it was really rough. If I gave it gas, it bogged down really bad. The lights were dimming when it was at idle, and would brighten up when I gave it gas.

Anyone know if I am seeing symptoms of some other issue in my charging system? Or did someone just give me bad advise and this is acting this way just because the bike is no longer grounded?

Thanks in advance for the advise.

I'm not sure what that will accomplish.
