Chain tool
For a decent, precision tool like that, I'd rather cough up the change. I'm sure it can
be done. But, other than brag right's, I'm thinking the return on my time is gonna be
a negative. Old man told me once..."If you're not making double time for your off-hours,
you're cheating yourself". I know I couldn't fab it up in less than 2 hours (more like 3-4, is my guess), so I'd be looking to buy. ;-)

This is a cheap way to do it In depth chain installation replacement rivet tool cheap harbor freight 530 motorcycle - YouTube I got the tusk rivet tool from rockymountainatv and did mine Tusk Chain Riveting Tool | Dirt Bike | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC for $50 it's cheaper than the motion pro and looks identical.
if you are in the US go to a harbor freight store and you can get one for $10. i used it to do my chain, a 530, and it worked great. i bent it a little bit but i figured for $10 a one time use item isnt bad, seeing as i will probably never need it again anyways
