Default chain questions...

sup honda riders! whats the proper tension of the chain? reason i ask is because today i noticed my chain "looks funny". i know, that sounds funny or wierd, but it just dont look tight. it looks "loose", like the bottom of the chain is "sagging" way too much. what if i moved the whole rear wheel back a lil? would that tighten the chain up? is that a good or bad idea. ive never messed with it the rear wheel like that before. maybe its just me but i never noticed till today. also, im getting a "squeeky" sound coming from that area too. its properly lubed, so i dont know what it is -- chain, rear wheel, etc... noticed that today too. anyway... any feedback would be helpfull. thx.

You should have an 1.6"-2.0" of chain slack. In the service manual there are instructions to adjust the chain. Do you have the service manual for your bike?

Something I do when adjusting the chain is number the flats on both of the adjusting bolts with a Sharpie marker, so then I have a way to check if I already turned that side or not...if that makes sense? Just make sure your wheel is straight to begin with, and if you goof up on the numbers - the Sharpie comes off with brake cleaner.
