I think you're ok.

Btw, referring back to your earlier statement... It *is* possible to remove links as needed (if you'd had more than 108). All you have to do is grind off link pins & press out w/ your chain-tool...then install a new master-link & you're good to go.

Biggest thing at this point is keep it tight and lubed. It doesn't matter where it is at in the sticker. It is the turns in the settings. A chain a sprocket should last 30,000 with no problems if properly maintained. You have 2000 miles on it, so just remember scheduled maintenance and you will be fine.

Dont think you want it "tight". You want your 1"-1 3/8" play/slack in it though.

Outlaw you are right. When I said tight I assumed that people would know proper chain adjustments and used tight as a general term.
If it is string tight then it is too tight.
