Default chain "new zone"

so i bought this kit, for an 03 cbrf4i
RK CHAIN/SPROCKET KIT 525 XSO HONDA CBR600F4I 01-06

and i put it on and it was barely in the new zone. the new zone has a bigger area than the blue and red zone. but why did this kit not get me farther to the right on the new zone.

How many links was it?? Need atleast 115-120. Could have been 108 links?? It will stretch in the next few hundred miles probably.

it was 112 link chain.
i was under the impression that the more a chain stretches, the more u tighten, the more u move toward replace zone, away from blue and new zone.
but with this new chain i was barely in the new zone, almost creeping into the blue area.

I just put a 120 link chain on mine. Had to take out 5 links and its way into the new area. If its too long, you have to take out a link or two then with a chain tool.

Using stock gearing, install at 108 links.

i took the master link off today to see if i would be able to take out some links. it isnt possible.
the f4i manual calls for 108 links and thats how many i counted, not 112 as the kit stated.
this is where the chain sits

it just seems too far along to the left for a chain w 2000 miles

That sticker is in the wrong spot. Should be more toward the front of the bike, maybe 3/16th of an inch.

Ignore the sticker for the time being.

108 links = factory spec for factory gearing, which for your F4i is 16/46.

Do you know if your sprockets are stock sized or not? If yes, the 108 link chain is correct.

Once chain is installed, & you turn the adjusters to take up slack, you should not be quite to the second notch on top of the adjuster at the back of the swingarm (this assumes a new set of sprockets in addition to new chain). If your sprockets are used/old & all you did was install a new chain...then you could be right on that second notch at the back of the swingarm or just past the second notch.

Now, you say you have a couple thousand miles on the new chain...& judging by your pic, you're just past that second notch. <---- If that's true, then your chain is where it should be. There ya go.

If you need a pic, I'll see what I can do.

If the sticker was in the right place, it would be in the "new" area so its fine. I just put my chain on and its on the 3rd mark in the "new" area.
