I HAVE A 2006 CBR600RR AND I WAS WOUNDERING IF ANY ONE KNOWS IF THERE IS ANY WAY TO DO A MOTOR SWAP TO A BIGGER MOTER LIKE A 929 OR A 954 OR EVEN A 1000.

nope. unless you can fabricate really well... the only motor that will fit in a 2005-2006 CBR600RR frame is a 2005-2006 CBR600RR motor.

 

Actually the 03-04 bolts right in too...


But kightslugger is right, possible - Yes, but it'll take a fair amout of fab work to do.

 

i thought the 03/04 had slightly different mounting points. different frame and all. maybe it's just the fairing stays that were different.. ****, hell i can't remember now. damn it...!

 

The frames are almost identical. The only real different mounting points are the 05/06 has an additionl mounting point underneith the framebehind the engine for an exhaust mount. If fact the engines are indenical from the cylinder down - the head,throttlebodies &airboxare different, and a few sensorsbut other than that nothing changed engine wise. Even the fairing stay is the same.

I actually helped a friend convert his 04 into a 05, we basicially bolted everything from a 05 with a broken frame on to a 04 frame with on problems. We had to mix and match afew minor brackets depending on which parts we used, but everything bolted rightup.

 

must have been the way that the fairings mounted up then...

 

no disrespect but why don,t you just get a fireblade it,s much easier if you want a bigger engine get a bigger bike
