Default CBR600F1 Repair Question:

Kind of a vague question..

Its a 1987 Honda Hurricane CBR600F1. 13'112 Miles (Not sure of the accuracy of this).

What could be wrong, and how much should this cost me?
Would I be better off selling it for parts? The transmission and frame are good.

-Not all cylinders are running
-'Problems' with spark plugs and injectors
-Not idling
-Wiring shortages/draining battery

Again, sorry for the vagueness of all of this. This is what I got in an email from the garage at the local exxon, and I was wondering if they would be able to fix this professionally, of if I should pay for towing to the Honda store (Its not capable of running for any longer than a few minutes).

Responses I have got have been to clean the carbs/replace them with flatsiders.

Any help would be appreciated..

I would first start by replacing the plugs and wires, since it sounds like thats where some of your problems are coming from. they're easy if you do one at a time. while you're in there, synching the carburetors isnt a bad idea. an 87 CBR 600 Hurricane is carbureted, not fuel injected.

the electrical issues, you may have to take it to the Honda dealer to get fixed, but the engine not running well you can fix at home.

Yeah.. thats why its going to the specialist.

The gas station has no idea what they're talking about.

quick piece of advice, NEVER take a bike to a gas station to get it checked out. EVER. get a manual for your bike, and enjoy the savings on repairs that you'll get from doing it yourself. oh yeah and the knowledge that you can fix it.

Yeah. I just had it at the gas station because it died within walking distance from it. I just payed to have it towed to the Honda store to get it repaired. If I had a garage, I would look at it myself, but I am in an apartment, and I dont think the landlord would like it if I brought it up into my room to do the work.

Not to mention I have no free time anyway.
