cbr1000rr ticking?

Default cbr1000rr ticking?

Between 2000-3000RPM my bike makes a ticking sound, I want to say its the valvetrain, was just wondering if anybody elses makes the same sound?

If its an 04-07, its fairly common for that engine to tick a little. Its very faint, but it is there. If your hearing an overly loud tick, it may be something different. But these engines are known for being rather noisy.

Dont know much about the RRs but on the F4i the CCT is a common prob that sounds like a coffee can full of BBs rattling around.

Thats great news, yea its not to loud I just happen to notice it when my windscreen is open.

Does it seem to be dependant on throttle position? My '07 makes a pinging sound in the 2000 to 4000 RPM range when I'm at 30% or more throttle. At very light throttle (once the engine is warmed up) I don't hear it. It drove me insane until I was able to find the cause.
