Default CBR Gas Tank

Hi, still working on my CBR. Had to have a key made at the local dealer for the ignition but found it doesn't work on the gas cap. Maybe the switch was changed. Any ideas about bypassing the key lock on the tank or will I have to take it to a locksmith?
Thanks

Yeh sounds like the ignition was changed. Pretty sure you can't bypass it but it's dead simple to remove. So off to the smith you go.
My key is a bit fiddly in the gas cap also so make sure it's not just a stubborn lock. You may also wanna check your boot and see if that opens too.
Best of luck!

Yeah it sounds like the ING cylinder was changed. It would not be a good idea to ride with the gas door unlocked so you will have to have that lock changed.

If you get the tank opened you can replace the stock cap with a keyless cap. Pro-tek has a keyless cap that works and looks real good.
Just make sure you buy the base and cap and not just the cap.

If you want to go with the keyless cap there is only 3 screws to remove the locked gas cap.
