Default CBR F4i Engine Removal / Lock Nut Wrench

Hi All,

Long story short, I'm removing the engine as I have six snapped off exhaust studs (that wont budge) in my cylinder head, I've spoken to an engineering firm that should be able to drill out and retap the holes if I can get the engine to them.

So me and the old man are going to spend a few evenings taking it out, I have a manual that suggests using a Lock Nut Wrench, I've only seen these for sale on ebay (america or china) but want to start work pretty pronto, does anyone know if these can sourced in the UK, or even better does anyone have one they no longer need?

Thanks

Chris

I've never removed my engine, but I have removed the Left and Right mounting bolts to install a set of frame sliders. IIRC, I used a metric socket set with a long handle ratchet. Be careful as you can break cheap ratchets with over-torque.

im assuming you're talking about the rear mounting bolts? the way honda did those is kinda goofy, but you shouldnt need any special tools. its basically just a threaded spacer to 'clamp' the engine, then a jam nut to keep it in place, and then a long bolt that goes through it to the other side of the frame. Should be able to remove the inner bolt, then take an allen key/socket to back off the spacer, and the jam nut should come with it.
