Default Cbr 600 f3 gear problems

Hi everyone,

I was returning home today and as I pulled in to the street my bike wouldn't go into neutral...

Then I stopped and tried selecting different gears but it woouldnt come out of neutral.

I started it back up and it wouldn't go into first but up to second, now it's in the garage and whilst it's turned on but not started, it's still stuck in neutral...

Wtf is going on??

Any help would be great...

Ta,

A x

im going to assume youve checked your throttle cable to make sure nothing's wrong with it and to spec.
ive rarely had an occasion where the bike felt like it was stuck in a gear until i rolled it back/forwards a few feet and it clicked into gear.

is there a grinding noise when it grabs the gear or anything?

There are a few things that can cause this problem. But 1st, I would make sure the clutch is adjusted correctly. 2nd change the oil (for a couple of reasons), Replace with good quality oil for bikes & check the old oil for debris, anything that looks like old rag torn to shreds means your clutch is cactus. 3rd, check that the shift pedal is not loose on the shaft. Other scenario's are the shifter fork's being bent or worn (other symptoms for this, is it jumping out of gear), buggered bearings or return spring or stripped cogs on the shaft

The oil was changed 100 miles ago, I'll change it over the holidays...

How do i make sure the clutch and throttle cable are adjusted correctly?

Thanks everyone!

I took it for a test run and it's working fine... Actually tighter than before!

Very odd...

The worst fault is an intermittent one
