CBR 1000F alternator question for methanol
Hi all. Was wondering if anyone out there knew the speed
of the alternator rotor relevant to the crank speed. I am looking at putting Hilborn mechanical methanol injection on my racebike and want to mount the pump where the alternator usually goes, but it needs to spin at half crank speed to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My $$ would say its double crank rpm. Might be a pain but you can take your alt cover off and hand rotate the engine at the crank. Post what you find!!

Yer , I don't think that info is in the spec sheets for the 1000F ...
I agree , Motorad's suggestion would be the easiest way to determine it though ...
If she is a race bike , pulling the cover should not be too much work to get an accurate measurement.. ....

count the number of teeth on the alternator and the gear that drives it. the ratio will give you the answer. you may also find this info in the parts manual. keep in mind that your valve train always spins half the crankshaft speed.
