+1 on that. That's no **** how much that'll help. I have a 99 900RR and there isnt an R6 around that'll beat that thing. Not even a new one. Hell an R1 up til 04 cant beat mine and it's pretty tame really. Any time I race a friends bike just to get a gauge for how my bike compares for power to weight we do a first gear roll on to eliminate any rider ability for the most part. I can out run a friends 03 R1, an 04 Gix1K, (barely, he has me by 106lbs is why) and hold off my bro's 01 gix 1k half way through 3rd, most of the time beat my friends 954 unless he gets lucky and can keep 1st down some, and an 04 Gix750 handily. 600's arent close. Maybe I have a good one? I have a 23K mile motor. Full V&H SS2R carbon can exhaust, jet kit, K&N, 15/43/520 chain and run synthetic oil and NGK Iriduim plugs. Thats it. Other wise all stock, as far as performance. Weighs in at 443lbs full of fluids. I've read that putting even just a slip on and jet kit will help a lot, as the stock can is junk. A full exhaust even more. I've never dynoed my bike but based on weight and what it'll beat (basing those on magazine dyno charts) I would guess it puts around 125hp to the rear wheel. At the track, it all depends. Ive passed every liter bike made, only to get smoked by an SV-650 through the tight stuff. Rider ability plays a huge part there, but in an old fashioned, "lets see whats what" on the street, you shouldnt have a problem with any 600. Start with a -1 up front and an exhaust and see where that gets you. Good luck man. I love the brotherly competition.
