Default Cam chain or valves?

How do I tell if its my valves or my cam chain? Its freaking loud! Im gonna go ahead and get an Ape CCT,but my current CCT(stock) is roughly 3 months old and it didnt make any difference when I installed it.And is there site that you can order it from online? I used The Google, and the sites that sell it,dont offer online ordering.

Noisy valves make a lighter ticking sound. The ticking will be comparatively soft and regular. A noisy cam chain is LOUD and doesn't always slap regularly.
A way to check is to put your ear close to different parts of the motor while the bike is running. CCT noise will be very loud on the right side of the bike near the clutch cover. Valve noise (depending on which valves are clicking) should be heard near the top/front of both sides of the motor.

Hey this helps me too...mine is a VERY loud clicking sound on the right side of the bike, so I parked it and ordered a manual CCT from APE. I'll post up when I dive into it and see if that fixes the problem...

instead of changing out all these parts to find out what the problem is...why not get it correctly diagnosed first?
lots of things make ticking/clicking sound...exhaust leak and valves do so all the time.
